The Prince's Wail

Once upon a time as my story started,
Just like fairy tales that they once created,
There's a price and a princess that are destined to meet;
That's how I want to relate our love story with.

I could be the prince and his knight in shining armor,
Wearing my elegant suit made by a famous tailor
As I look at her singing with the birds in the balcony,
It feels like I'm in heaven, flying freely.

But I know there's something wrong about these feelings
Because I know in my heart there is still missing.
She doesn't even know my name, no, she doesn't,
I'm just a simple man, trying hard to be pleasant.

As she tried to be Cinderella and have a pair of glass slippers,
I planned a lot and pretended as her shoemaker.
I made her shoes elegant but do not fit her feet,
Hoping for a chance, that for the second time, we will meet.

As she tried to be Snow White and eat an apple,
I pretended to be the mirror and said she's not the fairest of them all.
It is only for her to know that it's not about her physical traits,
It's still about her good heart for her to have a date.

She also tried to sleep and be Sleeping Beauty,
But waited for nothing till year 2090.
That's because I locked the door and put a signboard,
Saying, "Do not enter, this is a room of a deadly sword.".

As she tried to be Belle and kiss his prince,
I tried to be Beast, waiting for a kiss.
As she kissed me and waits for me to become a prince of sworn,
She again waited for nothing, walking with a face full of mourn.

Why is she dreaming to have the long hair of Rapunzel,
or willing to sacrifice her wonderful voice like Ariel?
If being herself is what matters most for me,
For she, as my princess and I, as her prince is the best love story.

When will be the time that I will say "I love you",
And she will proudly answer that she loves me too.
When will be the time that we will be together,
And live in our own kingdom happily ever after?
